Pastor Dave
Dave Carrol and his wife Lisa have been in full time ministry for over 23 years with the mission organization InFaith. InFaith is the oldest home missions’ group in the United States. Its roots go back to the First Day Society of Philadelphia, 1790. In conjunction with other like-minded agencies, the First Day Society joined with them to form the American Sunday School Union (ASSU) in 1817. Then with the ASSU’s mission now including Vacation Bible Schools and summer Bible Camps (both of which the ASSU pioneered), the name was changed to the American Missionary Fellowship in 1974. In 2011 the mission became “InFaith”, recognizing that all true Christian work is to be done “in faith”.
Dave brings this rich corporate history of reaching those who have been over-looked by mainline churches or society to his role as Pastor of the Wolf Creek Baptist Church (WCBC). As area missionaries, Dave and Lisa have helped start two churches, and Dave has pastored 4 churches. His call to ministry was over a 10-year period in which God gave him and Lisa many opportunities for rural ministry from Silver Lake and Dale, Oregon; to North Fork, Idaho; and to Elizabethton and Benton, Tennessee. During this time Dave worked with the U.S. Forest Service, and Lisa home-schooled and raised 6 children. Surrendering to the call of rural, faith-based missions, Dave went to Temple Baptist Seminary and earned a Master of Ministry Degree and was ordained by the First Baptist Church of Benton, Tennessee in 2001.
Dave and Lisa have done extensive Bible camp ministry, after-school Bible Clubs, youth groups, home Bible studies, prison ministry, Native American ministries, marriage counseling and retreats, and many, one-on-one ministries with those who most likely will never darken the door of a Bible believing church such as the WCBC.
Dave enjoys all things hunting and fishing, coaching baseball, and especially enjoys riding his 1974 R90/6 BMW motorcycle which he has owned for over 39 years. He is handy with vehicle mechanics and a little carpentry. Lisa loves her ladies from the Bible studies she leads and is excellent in designing crafts and leading music. Lisa is a two-time cancer survivor and has been cancer free for over 21 years! Dave and Lisa have six adult children (five sons and one daughter ages 24-35) and 5 grandchildren with 2 on the way!
Their greatest love though is sharing Jesus with those who do not know Him and introducing them to the Savior; loving His sheep; and leading them to a mature and vibrant understanding of the Scriptures. Dave’s ministry theme is: “Be all you can be for Jesus. Because if you will be all you can be for Jesus, that will be enough.” As Pastor of the WCBC his goal is to equip the Body to live out and share the unchanging Gospel of Jesus Christ to an ever-changing culture while meeting the needs of families in the communities served by the WCBC.
